At ComplexCon Hong Kong 2025, pioneering digital fashion house FabriX officially unveiled the future of phygital retail. Fresh off winning the prestigious Silver A’ Design Award 2026 in the Event and Happening Design Category, the Hong Kong-based digital fashion house is turning heads globally with an award-winning, Gen Z-targeted spatial experience that took the marketplace by storm.
The Death of the Boring Box: Reimagining Spatial Flow
Traditional exhibition booths are typically rigid, rectangular, and closed off. To captivate a visually demanding, digital-native audience, FabriX collaborated with POINT STUDIO (led by Gary Tam and Joan Leung) to blow up the conventional layout. Instead of a single entrance, they crafted a deconstructed, open-plan landscape. Seamless, curved architectural panels and monolithic sculptures warp around the perimeter, creating a natural flow where visitors can drift in and out from any angle. Constructed with a hyper-modern palette of square-tiled matte silver paneling, polished liquid chrome, and iridescent textures, the booth serves as a stunning physical canvas.
To keep visitors hooked, the space integrates three monumental “show-stopper” elements: a towering, curved LED digital pylon projecting AI-generated characters; a chrome, UFO-like retro-futuristic pod sculpture that serves as an instant curiosity magnet; and a fluted, reflective biomorphic column reaching toward the ceiling like a futuristic stalagmite.
Painting with Light: The Phygital Collision
The physical brilliance of POINT STUDIO’s architecture was only half the magic. To bring the “phygital” (physical + digital) concept to life, FabriX teamed up with digital and visual content art director Wy Chan of YAMANYAMO—an agency famous for pushing the boundaries of animation and visual impact. Together, they turned the booth into a living, breathing ecosystem.
While the towering LED screens displayed surrealist, AI-crafted virtual models, the seamless gray floor was transformed by dynamic, organic projection maps. As visitors walked through, vibrant puddles of light trailed beneath their feet, blending the boundary between physical mass and digital illusion. Every single angle of the booth was strategically designed to be highly photogenic, tapping directly into the Gen Z desire for expressive, shareable social media backdrops.
More Than a Visual Spectacle: A Retail Revolution
For FabriX, design is never just about looking cool; it’s about solving real-world industry pain points. Traditional fashion retail is plagued by massive inventory overheads, high production waste, and slow market feedback loops. FabriX solves this by utilizing its proprietary AR Kiosk and “See Now, Try Now, Buy Now” technology. At the ComplexCon marketplace, next-gen consumers could instantly “try on” digital garments via cutting-edge AR mirrors and place pre-orders on the spot.
By utilizing virtual try-ons and pre-orders, the platform gathers instant market demand data before a single physical garment is even manufactured. This creates a sustainable, zero-inventory playground that streamlines resource planning for designers while empowering consumers to explore boundary-pushing styles. Backed by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) and PMQ, FabriX has proven that the future of fashion isn’t just physical or digital—it is a seamless blend of both.
