Sculpture & 4D Interactive Experience: Tomorrow Was Inspiration

One studio is anchored in Paris, where every day Kevin Germanier meticulously crafts exquisite and incredibly elaborate haute couture designs, while the other is set in an industrial building in Hong Kong, where Ram2 persistently reimagines, questions, and explores the possibilities of new forms and functions through 3D sculpture.

Yet, despite their geographical separation and inhabiting in two disparate worlds, they weave together a natural aesthetic connection. Their shared fascination with “”dangerous beauty”” embodies an unsettling allure—a blend of perilous and charming, fierce yet slightly endearing—that informs one of the concepts of the exhibition, Tomorrow Was Inspiration.

“The future serves as an indelible reflection of the past. Actions taken leave long shadows in our present. Yet, within this darkness lies an urgent desire to seize the future—a burden that often feels heavy, as if one is being dragged back, blinded by uncertainty. The act of embracing oneself and covering the face encapsulates this disquiet, mirroring our anxieties as we confront the unknown.”

“However, amidst danger and despair, a survival instinct awakens a fervour and hope that illuminate the vitality of existence. This beauty becomes a wellspring of inspiration, guiding the next steps toward the future. The artists pursue this sense of urgency, evoking a call to embrace the future with grace and resilience.”

FabriX proudly invites digital art pioneer James Cao to unveil the ground-breaking 4DV.ai high-tech scanning programme as part of this collaboration. This innovation elevates the audience’s experience, allowing them to interact with and explore the intricate details of haute couture masterpieces through on-site iPads, bridging the gap between artistry and technology.

Germanier’s creations balance whimsy and ingenuity, transforming upcycled materials into wearable art with arresting precision.
