RÖYKSOPP GAKKAI Citta-Matra Dream Ribbon Suit
“citta-matra” is inspired by the Japanese 1990’s manga series, “Hime-chan’s Ribbon”, created by Megumi Mizusawa. It follows the story of Hime-chan, a tomboyish junior high school student who receives a magic ribbon enabling her to temporarily transform into anyone she desires. To convey the magical essence of this collection, Brun Chan collaborated with artist Han Teng, whose work is characterised by its dreamy tone.
“citta-matra” means “consciousness only” in Sanskrit and posits that all phenomena are mere projections of the consciousness. We believe that with our minds, we can manifest what we desire and evolve into who we aspire to be.
The collection makes use of an eclectic range of fabrics, including different styles of patchwork vintage handkerchiefs, crochet fabric, blankets, printed mesh fabric and tapestries woven with Han’s illustrations. In terms of silhouettes, we have reimagined our signature styles, such as smock dresses and A-line shorts, while paying homage to the outfits worn by Hime-chan in the comic, such as varsity jackets and pleated skirts. Apart from clothing items, this season we have also collaborated with local jewelry brand Project O and designed silver accessories to offer more options for mixing and matching.
